Afterall, it was children just like that, that grew up into the terrorists that flew those planes into our targets...last I checked WTC was not a military base...so why should we spare people like that shown in that disgusting photo.

I agree with you Betty Jo, Afghanistan is a brutal place, they had 10 years of war fighting the Soviet Occupation which was very brutal, followed by 10 years of civil war, this will have a brutalising effect on the Civilian population, I saw it in North Ireland, Bosnia and parts of Africa.

Also in Vietnam, body parts like ears were also collected.

War is Brutal, what is needed is a plan to bring stability to that country after the present regime has been defeated.

Maybe Betty Joe is thinking more clearly than some on this forum.

When fighting the enemy there is a need by some to demonise the enemy point to atrocities carried out by some and lay the blame on all. I have never understood this reasoning. I do not have to totally hate an entire group of people when fighting terrorists or a military that represents or claims to represent them.

Much has been made of the cruelty of the Afghanistan people or the Islamic world, well I have seen that same cruelty practised in parts of Africa, in Bosnia, in North Ireland and in every war ever fought including those fought by America, and that includes the taking of body parts as souvenirs, or for body count proof, ear ear

So sad, but when you see these kind of terrible things, remember the WTC, The Pentagon, and the Pa. crash that was likely intended for The White House or AF-One - and the countless others that were thwarted when President Bush shut down our airspace so quickly on Sept. 11th. . .

It really underscores the tragedy of September 11th, doesn't it? That these terrorists not only cowardly attack civilian targets including innocent women and children, but they use children as tools for their goal of destruction as well. That's some religion they've got there, huh? ;-(
