Bush doing low-key stuff, Giuliani with the high key. Methinks that the Dems will be getting overconfident by tuesday.

That's great! That, and the endorsement by Mayor Guiliani, might just push us over the top!
I believe not the polls that show a 17-point difference. I think the ones that show a 8-11 point difference are the correct estimations. However, as the old saying goes, the only poll that counts is the one on Election Day.
May God be with us all. We can pull this off!
GO BRET GO!

I sure hope Virginia's on the list for phone calls. Every little bit helps. I've check the mail for the presidential mailing we're supposed to get. Nothing as of yet.

I sure hope Virginia's on the list for phone calls. Same here, although I'm sure "That Poppins Woman" will show up to say we're all too afraid to answer the phone.
I would doubt that I'll get a call. I'm in Chesterfield and we'll go for Earley, it's just a matter of the margin.

Thanks for the huge laugh!

NO being from NJ I had never seen McGreeevy until I caught the debate last wwek. Now I had seen Schundler before and followed him since he first won in Jersey City and considered him a rising star. Since McGreevy was so farf ahead I assumed he must be a smoothy like Clinton or Edwards to poll so far ahead of Bret, even if Bret is more conservative that the rest of the state.
When I saw him in the debate I was blown away. What a clown, he looked like a little whiny school kid sitting next to Bret. He had nothing interesting to say other than to repeat the same old he wants to outlaw abortions and have every person armed. Now I know I'm very biased but he really was pathetic.
And I thought New York voters were stupid. Well they are but NJ, c'mon mcGreevy is a real light weight.

PS: Fred Barnes revealed that in his latest article for the Weekly Standard. What did our President say?
This seems to be looking like some sort of plan, isn't it? The two most popular Republicans in the country ... the one who can afford to does the high-key stuff (Rudy Guiliani) and the one who has the tougher job to do (maintain "bipartisanship") does the low-key stuff (Dubya).
It's smart ... I sure hope it works!

An article I read said that Bush was doing the phone messages for Bloomberg, Schundler and Earley. The NYC message may or may not go to non-Republicans (independents, etc.)-- they haven't decided.
I think that is the role of the President in races-- getting the party united and excited about voting (and raising money). Bush should not be expected to work miracles.
To: RobFromGa
The message was about 1 minute long, low key, extoling Bret's virtues. It'll pull a few percent.

Sorry, had to go out for a while. The President sang the praises of Brett & asked that we support him in the election on Tuesday. He ended the message with "Thank you and God bless America."

I hope the article you read is right about Earley. I'm not expecting a miracle from Bush, but with as close as the race is, calls could have a definite impact. Then, at least if we lose, we can't say we didn't do all we could.
