This may appear to be a bit early, but some of us will be travelling, perhaps out of touch with everyone here. Some with long roads to travel, others, shorter time spent.
This computer thing of ours, has allowed the meeting of diversified geographics, differing opinions, and instantaneous reflections of our regional tastes, to form immediate bonds across a country so large and wonderful.
Some of us could only dream of visiting other parts of this great country...yet because of FR...we have...sometimes,... defending opinions other than our own, because we believe in what was set down over two hundred years ago.
Whether you are Christian Conservative, a person of The Jewish Faith, a Catholic, an Agnostic, an Atheist...and yes..a Muslim.........we have been allowed this greatest of freedoms....to congregate here at Free Republic.
We have, and will continue to debate, disagree, partake in humorous repartee, and on ocassion throw things at our monitors.
Truly, my friends, we are one of heart, one of mind, one of republic.
It is now that time of year...we should wish each other a Happy Thanksgiving!

Hope to be in the woods,armed and ready to bring Bambi to justice.
I remember Thanksgiving 1967,Chu Lai RVN.
In the mess hall I got to pose with a Turkey and all the trimings,before settling down to some good old USMC. Turkey loaf.
"Hey,son,want your picture taken for your hometown newspaper?"
Mauldin would have been proud.
