Just how long is Bush going to allow these islamic freaks to slaughter American soldiers (and civilians) while we keep sheathed our "weapons of mass destruction."

Can you imagine going into a battle with a gun -- yet keeping it in your holster while your enemy cuts you to ribbons with a knife, because you "don't want to take unfair advantage"?

Come on Bush, show some guts. Do a Truman, and let's get this nonsense over with.

If someone was bringing Chinooks up to the line of contact, that someone should be court martialed. Those damn things are not maneuverable. They're Stinger-bait, and they shouldn't be near the front line.

The Apaches appear to be having a good day of it, however.

Be Seeing You,

Chris

Now we're going to find out how "resolved" the American public at large is over this war. I hope they don't wimp out on us.

From CNSNews.com

US Chopper Shot Down in Afghanistan with Deadly Results

(CNSNews.com) - A US army helicopter "loaded with combat troops" has been shot down in eastern Afghanistan, NBC News reported Monday, and the network said there are fatalities. The CH-47 Chinook helicopter reportedly went down early Monday morning - the first helicopter brought down by enemy gunfire in Afghanistan. As many as ten Americans died, according to preliminary reports passed along by NBC. If the early reports are confirmed, this would be the most Americans killed in a combat incident since the war began.

Multiple U.S. fatalities
There have been multiple U.S. fatalities today in the fierce fighting with al Qaeda and Taliban targets in eastern Afghanistan, CNN has learned. The region has been under constant bombardment by B-52s and jet fighters, as U.S., Afghan and Allied forces battle what U.S. Central Command describes as "several hundred" fighters.  CNN

Baloney. Most of the cave dwellers would be shielded from the effects of a blast, while our guys on the surface, would eat fallout.

Yes, we are taking casualties. Mountain warfare is like this. This is the first combat for the 101st. This is where the young leaders step forward and the NCO's start coming into their own. You will find as this goes on that the American airborne infantry has a great tradition of improvisation.

But we're going to lose guys. Good guys, too. Al-Qaeda has nowhere to go. We've apparently bagged a lot of the mofo's and they're going to fight like junkyard dogs, just like the Japanese Marines at Tarawa. We've sealed the escape routes, and they're all gonna die.

This is total war. Something the Eurotrash fail to understand. Of course, with the exception of our Brit and Canadian comrades in arms, none of those people are going to have have telegrams delivered to newly minted Gold Star mothers.

Damn.

Be Seeing You,

Chris

Chinooks have great handling and speed characteristics though since they do not have a vertical rotor.
