Wow! There was such a positive response to my FR article yesterday -

that I thought some of you might want to write a brief email of support to these outstanding FL teachers
publicly endorsing Jeb.

Consequently, today I'm introducing you to the first of these five distinguished teachers:
Joe Balchunas, a 4th grade teacher.

Florida's 2001 Teacher of the Year.

BIO - Joe Balchunas

Joe Balchunas was Florida's 2001 Teacher of the Year. A fourth grade teacher at Fairway Elementary School in Miramar, Florida, Balchunas has a Bachelors Degree from Nova Southeastern University in Davie, Florida. A Democrat, Balchunas was named a 2000 National Milken Educator and was a 1998 Wal-Mart Teacher of the Year.

Balchunas believes that parents must be heavily involved in their children's education and calls them weekly to inform them of classroom events. He is a team leader and a trainer in FCAT strategies and was instrumental in earning Fairway Elementary a National School of Excellence Award.

BTW, JulieRNR21 -- Your post yesterday is what led me to post this today. Because you are right: a teacher does have to brave and courageous in this state to come out publicly supporting a GOP governor in an election year.

I would not be surprised if this Dem teacher is now an outcast at his school in the eyes of his fellow faculty.

I really hope some FR people write to him, even if it's just to say hello!

I think that Jeb has a good chance of being the future president of the USA. Actually, I like his politics better than that of his brother. I briefed Jeb on a project I was working on that had some Florida implications and found him to be more than simpatico. I wish him well. Americans love a dynasty.

Jeb as POTUS? I'll stand behind that! With Jeb at the helm of the sunshine state, I'm happy to be able to say I have a man that I'm proud of as governor. Having just come back to Florida a year and half ago after being in California since '83, that's a complete change of mindset for me.
