At any rate, Israel is now cordoning off the area.

And just imagine how the Italian citizens are feeling about the US government and the Vatican for pressuring the Italian politicians into this mess.
Why is the US government working so strongly for the PLO, even making our allies do stuff that goes against the wishes of their own citizens and makes those same citizens hate us?!

It's an outrage -- but can any country in their right mind be expected to take them? I'm betting Israel just wants this over with, soon, so that it can go about more important business, and not worry about the Church being burned down.
