This Friday for the "Family Fix" series, we take on the Osbourne family.
"The Osbournes" is MTV's huge hit series. It's an odd TV hit. MTV is
filled with beautiful people playing popular music, so it's puzzling that
so many viewers prefer watching the unscripted and often mundane
(changing the vacuum cleaner bag, taking out the garbage) life of one
family.
We showed videotapes of the family antics to two family therapists. Then
I sat down with the family -- minus Ozzy Osbourne -- and confronted them
with what the psychologists said. Their often angry reactions were
interesting.
No "Give Me A Break" this week, but some news about a recent one: After
our report on how Worldcom's Bernie Ebbers collected big bucks while his
company declined, Ebbers "resigned" as CEO, and was told he'd have to pay
back the more than $300 million the company had lent him.

Okay, I'll do my best and try to cut down some....
Ah, the only one with long hair and tattoos is Ozzy.
Long Live Ozzy!
Okay, I'll do my best and try to cut down some....
The f*** you will, you no good f***.
"Inoyoucanotevenwhoisthaimeanwhaisthemeaninofthawhayousureyoucansaywhaimeanisthaisnoughokwayatharite" says Ozzy, in agreement.
Rock music is all about marketing, and Ozzy's doing it to perfection.
BTW, Sharon Osbourne is a total babe.
And when did MTV ever show "beautiful people" playing music? (Marilyn Manson and Joe Walsh come to mind, here...)
It's exciting!
Once again, John Stossel is the sucking leech on American media.
This guy has not had an original idea since the Eisenhower Administration, and I don't know if he was even alive then.
Lighten up!
Other celebrities would kill to get on that show, and this looser gets on twice in one month?
Like who???????????????????????
Mmmmm lets see what Hollyweird commie we can put on there. Should we start with the scientologists; Tom Cruise and John Travolta. Or how about socialist like Sara Jessica Parker, Barbara "I love Bubba" Streisand, Rose O'Fats, Ted Turner, Martin "I live in a dream world and really think I AM THE PRESIDENT" Sheen, Ted Danson, the cast of Friends, Ali McDumbass, ER, and The Left Wing, need I go on? I made my point.
At least Ozzy doesn't pretend to be someone he's NOT, unlike the rest them. He's is more American than most American's are now!
Or, as Ozzy would have put it, "Get the f--- out of here."
I'm still trying to figure out what a "looser" is. I mean, is that worse than "poophead" but not as bad as "stinky pants?"
So was his show about "Why America is Number 1" (I think that was title). Showed America vs India and then compared India to Hong Kong. Bottom line - it's freedom. You would expect America to do better than India bec of the population and limited resources, right? JS showed how wrong that is by bringing in Hong Kong. The this is, the US is (relatively) free to conduct business and HOng Kong is ever more free in that re. India on the other hand allows businesses only if approved by committee and the approval takes two years -- if you're lucky. Lot more to it, but that was the thrux. Excellent show. Libs/communist should be forced to watch it.
Of note is how attentive the MTV audience is to a [mostly] traditional family: hard-working artist/businessman is successful, lives in a nice house, has a devoted pretty wife, two normal (more or less) kids, and has to deal with mundane home events. Contrast the Osbourne family with much of their audience: broken homes, really messed-up parents and/or kids, crummy living conditions, etc.
Really says something about a culture when the best traditional role models are The Osbournes and The Simpsons.
