Baseball is America's sport. I dont mind a few taxpayer bucks being spent on this.

Curse! What curse? Maybe they're just lousy players. Maybe the state of Massechusets just likes to squander the taxpayers hard earned money.

This is nuts. Go Mariners!

"Will it kill the curse or just waste more money?"

This effort is more worthwhile than at least three hundred other items in the Mass budget.

LOL! I would put 'family planning services' at the top of the list.

Here is the right way to conduct a small-scale underwater search:

The most obvious way to start a search of this kind is to ascertain the general vicinity of the lost item through recorded accounts of the event. Then use a boat with a fishfinder. If that doesn't turn up the item, anchor the boat over the most likely spot. Take the end of a coil of rope and secure a loose loop around the anchor line. Dive down the anchor line while holding the coiled rope, sliding the loop along as you go. Using a metal detector, make a circle along the bottom around the anchor. Let out some rope and repeat the circle at a larger circumference, repeating the action wider and wider until you run out of rope. Set a marker, return to boat, weigh anchor, move the boat, and repeat.

Chances are almost certain that no one will do it this way.

I do pay for it your self!

Sorry. If you don't like it, move or don't vote for people like that. I'm in favor of it. It's that much money to be spent on unproductive things like welfare.

I'm a big-time BoSox fan, and I can't effing stand the fact that the Commonwealth sees fit to waste money on crap like this, especially when the tax-happy legislature just cried poorhouse and slapped us with a $1 billion tax increase.

Figures a statist like VA would get a chubby over this one....

Ruth's Piano Concerto no. 3 is a masterpiece in the classical repertoire. Especially the final Bowel Movement in d minus. I can see why they would wish to resurrect this instrument of genius.

Move over, Ignacz Paderewski, you piker!

I agree with you. They could actually make money off this, by selling it to the Red Sox so they could put it in Fenway, maybe warding off the curse.

On another note...I tried to email the article to some acquaintances who are Red Sox fanatics. Well, the only thing that went through was a picture of the scantily clad female at the end...ouch.
