ACCORDING TO AN AMERICAN GENERAL, PRAYER IS KEY TO DEFEATING TERRORISM

A U.S. Army general believes America's war on terrorism won't be won without Divine intervention. Speaking yesterday to more than 1,000 people attending the Community Prayer Breakfast in Fort Myers, Fla., Maj. Gen. William Boykin said it will take prayer to defeat those who want to destroy the United States, "The Fort Myers News Press" reported. "It is a spiritual enemy we have to contend with. Now is the time to fight," said the commander of the Army's Special Forces school in Fort Bragg, N.C. "We've got to defeat them on our knees. Pray for our leaders. Pray for our nation."

Talking about his darkest hour, Boykin asked God to protect his men when he sent them into Somalia during a 1993 covert operation, which resulted in a firefight that claimed 18 Army Rangers and was recently made into the movie Blackhawk Down. "My heart was broken," said Boykin, noting that he went to his bunk where he cried for his men and was angry with God. "I said there is no God. If there was a God, He would've been here to protect my soldiers." Then, Boykin said he heard God's voice saying: "If there is no God, there is no hope." Boykin described his change of heart after that and drew applause when he said: "God is alive. God is real. God will answer the prayers of those who humble themselves before Him."

I sure agree with this General. If only America would realize that it is because of her faith in God that our Country has enjoyed the liberties we know. WE are in real danger of losing our freedoms because we have turned our back on the ALMIGHTY. SMART GENERAL I SAY!!

The general is right. It IS a spiritual battle. We have to do more than kill terrorists, we have to discredit an IDEA. The idea is that killing innocents in the name of Allah gets one straight to "heaven". If they doubted that, if the started thinking that maybe they would go straight to Hell for it, how many volunteers would they have?

It is of interest to me that the new Emblem of Russia has a two headed Byzantine Eagle...one head represents the State and the other the Holy Orthodox Church.

Now, that eagle means that each head watches the other's back. But, the other interesting part is that there is an Icon of St. George, the warrior Saint, being held by the Eagle....St. George is pictured slaying the dragon which would try to destroy the CHRISTIAN CHURCH.

And, now we have an American General witnessing for GOD.

WHAT MIRACLES GOD HAS WROUGHT!!

It could be that in this time of great potential harm, we just might figure out the value of putting our future in the hands of God.

What a picture!  The word Repentance was exactly my first impression when I saw the title of the thread.  The Lord is not a handholder and is a waymaker only to the repentant and the obedient who continue in the Word instead of in sin.  Grievious wolves -- false prophets and false teachers have come and deceived many so now there is an Anything Goes mentality in many.

Ac 20:29 For I know this, that after my departing shall grievous wolves enter in among you, not sparing the flock. 30 Also of your own selves shall men arise, speaking perverse things, to draw away disciples after them.

Jude 1:4 For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ.

Russia is not overly fond of the Roman Church...oh, well...Rome has its dance card filled right now....supposedly, Europe NEEDS a spiritual revival right now...even Poland has trouble keeping the Churches filled....with the younger folk.
