My sister-in-law lives in nearby Sturgis.
She helped a co-worker move belongings from her Spearfish Canyon home today.
The terrain is quite rugged and it is very dry around there.
The fire is at least 1000 acres now and has burned at least 2 houses we know of.
It was extremely hot and dry today: 108 degrees in Rapid City.

However, not every one complied in what residents said was chaos amid smoke and slurry bombers overhead. What do you want to bet that the non-compliers were people gambling in the casinos? Just a hunch........
