Usually it's a matter of looking at the source code and figuring out what directory they are using for the image. Then simple append that directory onto the main site link and voila!

Here is an example (I put spaces after the < designator to prevent activating the link):

This is the URL for Urth Fist Santa Cruz:

http://members.cruzio.com/~cruzef This is the URL for the image I found there: < img src="/pictures/efsymbolanimation.gif" width="277" height="364" border="0" align="bottom"> Here is what I post here: < img src="http://members.cruzio.com/~cruzef/pictures/efsymbolanimation.gif" width="277" height="364" border="0" align="bottom"> Thusly:

They're fisting the Treeeee!!!

Cool link. Thank you.

Maybe if enough of us pool our money to give Grey Doofus a nice campaign contribution, he'll let us have some more generating capacity in California. I'm thinking $100,000 is about what he would want to extort to loosen the reins on one or two proposed plants.

Thank you for the instructions, I've been wanting to know that one for a while myself.

Personally I like the bumper sticker, "Earth First, we will log the other planets later"

Unfortunately up here in Western Washington if I had that on my car and I was stopped in a small logging town someone who didn't read just the earth first part might drive their truck over my car. Then again, if I went to a university town, the enviro-waco's might break out the windows.

It is hard to try to keep the environmental benefits of various things in a "reasonable balance." My hat is off to you.

Thank you for starting things off. It is amazing how many additional MW's of power they have lined up for today. I think later this morning I will check and see which unplanned outages have been fixed or it they are importing to beat the band. It looked like late last night they started importing a lot more power from the PNW.

Hopefully, I will also get a response from the ISO Communications director, but given quasi-state government, I don't expect an answer until next week.

My take is that they have enough additional generation available to cover today unless they have some large unplanned outages.

The LA Times & SacBee are the only papers I saw that called yesterday an Emergency. Even the times in its local page had one article calling it an Alert and another calling it an Emergency. I expect today to be an Alert kind of day.

I believe what you posted here, is the answer to the increased availible MGWH's: It looked like late last night they started importing a lot more power from the PNW.

It would be interesting to see what we are paying for the power from Oregone and your socialist/watermelon state.

Thank you.

It takes passion to make yourself do the work, but it takes extreme patience to teach that work to those obsessed with a cause. To reach either side requires that you convince them of your passion for much of what they believe. To effect resolution is, in my experience, not a synthesis of existing stances, but showing either party how "the problem" as they understand it, is in error and that a third party wants it that way in order to put both "sides" at odds.

"We are asking the wrong questions."

The passion has to drive the necessary self-control, persistence, and patience to get the message across. Sometimes it even takes controlled anger or serious risk-taking. You have to give your life to it or people will doubt you.

The one skill I am lacking is the skill necessary to read the level of understanding in those whom I would reach. I try to think well of people and speak to the best of their intellect, but sometimes I miss. If I blow them away they think I am arrogant. If I talk in simple terms they might think I consider them stupid.

It's a tough tightrope. It might be easier if I had the aura of fame, but then they might type me as belonging to one "side" or the other. I'll let you know how it works out. I sure wish I was selling more books.
