"This is a fancy way of racial profiling," said Carl Baron, an immigration attorney and researcher at the University of Texas. "Just on the basis of where a person is from the government is going to subject them to these measures. You're going to see fewer Middle Easterners willing to come to the United States and I wonder whether that isn't the real agenda."

And the reason that's bad is ....? Well maybe he has a point, why discriminate against Saudi Arabia, they should be included in this fun new program.

And tell me, Carl Baron, just how else would YOU keep terrorists out?

Carl Baron wouldn't keep terrorists out, because Carl is no doubt a tenured liberal bonehead at UT, who HATES the U.S. and wishes he could replace the entire U.S.Constiution and Bill of Rights with the musings of Karl Marx.

This will be effective in setting up a bureaucracy to file fingerprints. It will be ineffective for the groups wandering across the border into Arizona or wading across the Rio Grande to New Mexico. Somewhere, someday, the United States is going to have to tackle the task of protecting its borders if it is going to remain a viable country.

All nationals of Iran, Iraq, Libya, Sudan and Syria.

How many of WTC bombers would get fingerprinted under this "profiling" scheme? Or Afgans for that matter?

Not many. Saudi and Yemeni nationals should be included, forthwith.

To say "not many" is a overstatement for a ZERO! 15 out of those 19 suicide bombers were Saudies and the rest did not come from "Iran, Iraq, Libya, Sudan and Syria" either.

Oh, well, better any profiling than none :). Now we can feel safer.
