It is amazing how much of the fighting the US has been involved in recently has been because of the the post WW I breakup of the Austro-Hungarian and Ottoman Empires and the failure of the League of Nations.

You could say that WWII followed as a result of WWI as well. Yet, somehow people in America feel that Europe has the answers to the world's problems because they've existed longer than us/US.
