The Republicans dodged a bullet. The sniper is not a white guy who ran security for Pat Robertson. The left was hoping-against-hope it would be and that this would help them keep their Senate majority.
But I have noticed today, an enormous concentration of energy on Free Republic to the Sniper issue and their identity as Muslims. This is fine and well. But it is not the big issue before us. The coming elections are.
So let's get our energy back to the election. Here are some things you can do to help elect a Senate Majority.
* Contribute money to the key Republican Senate candidates. TakeBackCongress.org describes the key races and gives links to each candidate's campaign.
* Make calls and walk precincts. Serve as a poll watcher on election day. TakeBackCongress.org has links to put you in touch with the State parties in key states to do this.
* VOTE. And take a conservative friend to the polls.
* Make sure your conservative friends know about early voting.
* Call your conservative friends and tell them how important this election is. Conservatives who stayed home on election day is the ONLY reason the 2000 election was close.
Let's not let the bullet we dodged on the Sniper distract us from the real work ahead. Remember:
ACT TODAY!
GOOD INTENTIONS DON'T WIN ELECTIONS.
ACTION DOES

What's a vanity doing in Breaking News?
And with a tacky headline, at that?
To: ffrancone
Why would this have been the Republicans fault if the sniper was a white dude???

Agreed; even though it's a worthy goal, this is nowhere near breaking (except maybe my monitor).

But I have noticed today, an enormous concentration of energy on Free Republic to the Sniper issue and their identity as Muslims. You don't seem to get it....the shooter is a BLACK MUSLIM who did security for the million man march........that is the BIG STORY!
Don't turn away from this .....we now have a BIGGER PROBLEM THAN BEFORE!

No, they're black guys who ran security for the Million Man March. How have RATS managed to dodge THAT bullet?
These guys are RATS (as I've said all along) and muslims and, perhaps, fags to boot.

Just sent $50 to Jeb.

I don't think the dems will dodge the bullet. The public is not stupid. The guy's name is Mohammed. All the PC coverup of that fact by the media will not fool anyone except DU underground folks, who are hopeless anyway.
But we cannot rely on that to put our guys over the top. This election will be determined by turnout of the base. If our base votes, we will hold the house and take the senate.

I think his point is a black muslim sniper is the antithesis of a white non muslim sniper; the press would have blamed the GOP and gunmakers and laws for the sniper if it were not a black muslim. Notice the Dems, NOI and Brady Bunch are quiet today?
To: Dog
It wouldn't have been... it's a strawman argument.

I agree. If the Nation of Islam is involved in this, it is a terrible problem. But that problem will wait until after the election. What is on our plate right now is the most important off-year election in decades. Hands-down.
The election just got more important. If we fail to elect a Republican Senate, our ability to deal with this problem will be held hostage by folks that do not have America's best interests at heart.
To: RedBloodedAmerican
Thanks Red. You are exactly right. Had the sniper been a Timothy McVeigh type, I doubt we could even dream of taking the Senate and would probably lose the house. I remember too well the mileage Clinton milked out of OKC. The Begalas and the NYT's were ready to milk this one, had the sniper been a white guy.
But none of this will matter if conservatives don't get back to the nuts-and-bolts of winning an election. That means voting, calling, walking precincts, and the like. A two or three day distraction from the election mechanics could be the difference in one or two senate races.
If the Nation of Islam has become a terror organization, we will have many years in which to consider and deal with that terrible fact. We have only 12 days to win the election.

Thanks. This is what will win for us.

TEXAS...armed and ready!

Oh, how sweet it will be when the people who have been doling out awards to the Clintons lately get brought in somehow in connection to the snipers via Nation of Islam. I know the Clintons support Arafat, and have much responsibility for the terrorist activity on our soil and against the US aborad, but this brings it closer once more. The fact that the Clintons are heroes in the eys of people such as these only separates them out that much more. Please bring back public hangings for treason!

Why would this have been the Republicans fault if the sniper was a white dude??? Not at all, but you know what the liberal press and Dems would have said.
I am certain that Daschle and Gore had statements ready if the sniper(s), when caught, had turned out to fit their "angry white male" stereotype. Now they can conveniently stick those speeches where the sun don't shine.
