Senator Frist:
Thanks to the voters who worked hard across the country to get out the vote, the GOP has regained the Senate. Now President Bush's agenda can be moved through the Senate. But the Senate needs a strong majority leader and Senator Lott is not the man for the job. Do not let the citizens down who worked so hard for this GOP victory - give us a STRONG Senate majority leader...replace Senator Lott.

Sent this letter to Sen. Frist with a copy to the White House. I encourage everyone to pressure Frist and the White House to replace Lott. He simply is too weak to do a good job. We GOP voters have proved we can make a difference - Washington needs to listen to us - NOW.
Hope administrators allow this vanity.

Be careful. I'd rather have a weak conservative Lott, than a strong betrayer like McCain--or others.

Sen. Nickles.

How about Sen Frist himself?

A Vacant seat would be better than a Vacant Lott. What a wussie. The dems will have his shorts off within a month.

I think it would be fantastic to see Sen. Frist as majority leader, but I doubt we'll get someone new. The only way we would see any change right now is if Karl Rove and the White House got motivated to involve themselves to help advance their agenda. Hopefully, if nothing else, the White House will manage the activities of the Majority Leader's office and put together a sound strategy to beat the Dums.

While I hope they do, I doubt the Republicans will replace Lott. In that expectation, I sent the following message to the Senator from Mississippi:
Dear Senator Lott,
Second chances are extremely rare, in life and especially in politics. You have just been handed one, so I hope you will take the following advice in the spirit in which it is intended:
1) Never forget the treatment you and the other Republicans in the Senate have received at the hands of Mr. Daschle and his cohorts since July of last year.
2) Never forget that they have done everything in their power to stall, delay, and obstruct your president in the proper conduct of his duties.
3) Never forget that after you extended them your hand in friendship and cooperation they took every opportunity to figuratively spit in your face.
4) Never forget that the fate of your party and the presidency of George W. Bush will rest on what you are able to accomplish in the next two years.
5) Remember that your opponents will use very trick, ethical or unethical, legal or illegal, to stop you.
6) Remember that they will never like you, they are not your friends, and the best you can ever hope to obtain from them is their grudging respect.
7) Finally, understand that if you fail, there are a dozen or more other Republican Senators who are waiting in the wings for their chance to try.
Many of us, dedicated members of your party, have been sorely disappointed with you as our Senate leader for the past six years. Where we have wanted a Churchill we have too often seen a Chamberlain.
You now have one golden opportunity to prove us all wrong about you and the Senate leadership of our party. If this seems harsh, I am sorry. The very future and survival of our country is at stake and the opportunity handed you, largely through the efforts of your president, will last only a short time. Please prove us wrong, show us that you have learned from the past, and make us all proud.
If there are any signs of a repeat of past behavior, e.g. discussion of some sort of "power sharing" between now and the election of the leadship, I hope somebody stands up and takes the reins away.

to all:
I have called Lott "Traitor Lott" for a few years now since he caved in with the other weak-kneed Republicans who gave the honorable House Impeachment managers the Byrd and let Clinton off the hook.
At this point, after listening to him this morning, however, I'm somewhat willing to give him another chance. He seems to have learned some important and valuable lessons in having lost and now regained the majority. Remember, Jumpin' Jim Jeffords was one of the Singing Senators and he (Lott), as much as anybody, saw the hatred and scheming of the DemoncRATs first hand. I think he's all the wiser now and probably best positioned to move the agenda.
In giving him the benefit of the doubt at this point, I have to also acknowledge that he played a role in this tremendous victory. Plus I noticed that he was with W in the WH last night and was called first thing this morning; W seems to believe he has a partner in Lott and, if that's the case, then they're working together to move the agenda (what we really want) have the potential to yield the ultimate results that could / will truly reward America.

The Honorable Don Nickles from Oklahoma....he has challenged littl' Lott's position in the past and has backbone.

Lott does President Bush's bidding and I believe that Lott actually knows politics inside out...I don't want to see someone stand up and froth at the mouth like the liberal democrats.
