Why the Democrats Lost

While whimpering Democrats and their media allies sit around trying to figure out why they lost the November 5 elections, over in London Tina Brown found a simple answer to the Dem's puzzle, according to Liz Smith in today's New York Post.

Writing in Britain's Times, Brown explained that: "more Americans voted Republican because they wanted to." Noting that "'THE POST-election spinning of mortified Democrats shares a premise with all victims of public humiliation: 'If only people knew,' ... If only people heard my side of the story!' Brown observed that the Democrats "cling to the tenacious old lie of tout comprendre c'est tout pardoner,[to understand all is to forgive all] when in most cases the less aphoristic reality is this: to understand all is not to give a %&*.

"Democrats refuse to face the fact that more Americans voted Republican because they wanted to."

It's that simple, Mr. McAuliffe. The truth sure does hurt, doesn't it.

I heard DIck Armey (R-Tx) say that Democrats try to keep the truth about themselves from getting out while the Republicans try to get the truth about themselves out. Is the truth getting out?

My theory is that they lost because the republican candidates got more votes.

I could be wrong, though.

Over at the Du and other liberal websites they think the voting machines were rigged. They can't accept that the majority of voters would reject liberalism. Let them stay in denial and sink below the radar in 2004. They lost because they only offer fear - republicans starve kids and old people - only morons buy into that crap. Democrats have a sleasy reputation after the 2000 elections and offer absolutely nothing new or any hope. They have worried more about the treatment of captured terrorists than about the lives of Americans. They attack GW with silly charges and offer no alternative. NOW they think they leftwing base didn't turnout because they had become too moderate. Sadly for them their leftwing base did turn out (they were motivated by the election 2000 we wuz robbed factor) there just aren't that many lefties. It should be fun to watch the democrats move even further left and further away from the vast majority of Americans.

Boy, for a second I thought that was real. The scary thing is, I wasn't surprised. Great parody.
