Your first reference in the bibliography is to Terry Jones. Would that be the Terry Jones from Monty Python? He has had several TV specials about medieval life. Is he an accepted scholar on the matter? Or is it a different Terry Jones?

No, he is the same guy. Discovery Europe aired his whole series a few months back.

I don't know if you know 'Blackadder', but the guy who plays Baldric also has his own Discovery program, where he visits British archeological excavations.
