Ithaca prepares 5 busloads of protesters

ITHACA -- "Drop Bush Not Bombs" reads one of the posters headed out of Ithaca for Saturday's antiwar protest in Washington D.C.

At 1 a.m. the day of the march, people from the Ithaca area will load onto five buses, posters and all, for the eight-hour trip to the nation's capital. There, they will meet with what organizers hope will be tens of thousands of marchers protesting President George W. Bush's moves toward a possible war with Iraq.

It's sort of like in the old westerns when you knew that the bad guys were comin' on the 12 o'clock train.

Once the protest is finished, Ithacans will load up on buses again at 6 p.m. and head back to Ithaca where they hope to arrive by 1 a.m. Sunday.

Dang. I was hoping they'd stay there...

Spaces on the five buses filled Wednesday afternoon, but Halton said he is still taking calls from those interested in making the trek.

Another good example of why Ithaca is the City of Evil. Not content to stay up here in their worker's utopia, they are now organizing "raids" into other parts of our nation. Kind of like the Vikings. Or a virus. ;-)

If I remember correctly, during the early part of the 19th Century a furious political debate arose in England over the desirability of building, the then new, railroads because of the encroachment of the right-of-ways on the great estates.

The Duke of Marlborough decided he was in opposition because he was afraid 'the common man might travel unnecessarily'.

Seeing as how any bunch of idiots can easily venture to DC to 'try to get the government to change its way', the old Duke's fears may have been justified.

1. Rich Hollywood stars fund said organization

2. Organization provides free rides to their propaganda event with funds from these stars.

Perhaps I'm mistaken, but I don't remember seeing these bleeding-hearted losers out there protesting Clinton's bombing of Iraq in Operation Desert Fox. ...Nor do I remember them protesting Clinton's bombing war against the Serb Christians.

These emotional wrecks aren't anti-war in the least. They're anti-REPUBLICAN. ...And this hypocrisy is completely lost on them.

That's only the start. If you saw that last rally on C-SPAN there were plenty of Socialist Worker Party signs around and people "demanding" that the government give them a secure lifetime job with guaranteed benefits, "free" health care, and a "free" college education.

A bunch of losers who somehow think the rest of us owe them something.
