The Iraq war isn't about oil. It's about overhauling the middle-east. As one caller put it, there's a move on to advance a 'greater Israel' going on here. Only those 'in the know' are aware of it. Obviously he was. Evidently you and I aren't.
Shehata comes off as a moderate, then slips in the inuendo so gracefully that you wind up asking yourself, did he just say that? Notably missing are any questions or answers regarding the evil that middle-eastern leaders perpetrate on their own citizens. You get the impression that his own people are for the most part the only ones calling in. Most of the questions I've heard are softballs tossed so he can hit them out of the park.
C-Span is off to a great start this morning. Shehata is being aired unopposed. Next they'll have an anti-war panel. Then C-Span will air the A.N.S.W.E.R. ralley. What a great line-up for those who love our nation.
As much as I hate what this dimwit and the A.N.S.W.E.R. ralley promote, I hope US citizens watch. They need to see C-Span out itself. Sharon is the problem. All Arab leaders are the moderates. Caller after caller praised Samer for regurgitating his rewrite of history. The Shah of Iran was a very bad guy by the way. He was merely a puppet of the US.
You have to give these folks credit. They take the network your and my cable dollars support, then turn the media tool against us on our own soil.
C-Span is a willing tool. Brian has done himself proud today.
At 5:45 p.m. e.s.t. a Death Penalty Forum will be addressed by Janet Reno. C-Span will cover it live. It just doesn't get any better than this...

You are correct, I have been watching it as I type. I don't think I'll stick around to watch Ramsey Clark and Ben of Ben and Jerry's ice cream to inform me on foreign affairs, but it is fun to revel in the other side's agony.

Next they'll have an anti-war panel. Then C-Span will air the A.N.S.W.E.R. ralley. Between the anti-war [A.N.S.W.E.R] panel, CSPAN will manage to squeeze in Medea Benjamin [billed as with the Code Pink Women's Peace Vigil ]. The not Fair and Balanced programming continues all day long.

It is interesting to me how the left steals wholesome language.
gay = happy, festive
homosexuals hijacked it to mean queer, homosexual
rainbow = covenant with God
homosexuals stole this as a sign of homosexuality
Jessie Jackson stole it to signify his special efforts
code pink = abducted child, go on alert
the Anti-War crowd has taken this phrase as their group name
I know there are others, but I am tired. I am very tired of this tactic of the left.

I guess Kovik couldn't make it. I don't think much of the guy, but I'm not going to make comments about a guy who sacrificed as much as he did for our nation. I will say that others paid even more, and they still realize war is necessary when all else fails.

Holy crap! The Cspan show with Benjamin & Holmes had a caller who said she was against the war because Bush was doing it because Jeb would get the Jewish vote--said she voted for W and threatened her kids with disinheritance if they didn't vote for W, but would never vote for W again. She couldn't say JOOS often enough.

I have been listening to the ANSWER reps for the last half-hour. If there has been one pro-Bush call-in I've missed it. The C-Span host doesn't even blink. Although there is a Democrat line, a Republican line and an Independent line, it hasn't dawned on him that not one Republican has endorsed Bush's policy. C-Span, balanced with a 200,000 lb weight on the left side.

Did you notice how Holmes deflected the question about Saddam's atrocities: "I'll reframe the question...." Neither he or Benjamin were pressed on this one.

why I always do it this way C-Span(ing for democrats)
this show is our tax money running a DNC advertisement

This host reminds me of one of those bouncing dog-heads in the back window of a car. I can't imagine anyone thinking it a good idea to put these two subversives on without anyone to balance them out. This is absolutely disgusting to the max. I did not notice the call you mentioned. I am glad that at least one did come in.
To: DoughtyOne
The call about Saddam's atrocities came in--unbelievably--on the DEM line.
Thankfully, this show is over. What's next (or should I just expect another hour of BS before they show HOURS of the propaganda rally)?

Yes it is. And tomorrow they aren't doing much better. There is one bright spot, then they are covering Susan McDougal's book where she tells about her courage for refusing to testify in court, and what she learned about life in prison. Susan McDougal????

World War II was a just and necessary. thank God we were able to win it. It's terrible thing for humanity that we had to use the atomic bomb to end it, however.
I've never been convinced that the so-called "Korean Conflict" or "Viet Nam" were either necessary or justified. Tragic errors both of them.
Thank God we won the Cold War. And God bless President Reagan (and Mr. Gorbachev) for their roles in that.
I was not very impressed with our move on Panama or the much touted Gulf War either. The campaign in Somalia was a disaster and our military adventures in Kosovo seem to have done little good.
What exactly have our little wars accomplished since WWII?
We are almost universally disliked and distrusted. Since Viet Nam we have been a house divided against itself. (We've never really recovered from the Sixties, despite the pleasant hiatus of the Reagan years.)
I personally think we are foolish to go waltzing off to war in the Middle East when we have utterly failed to cover our backsides here at home.
Our Immigration and naturalization policy is a DISASTER. Our unwillingness to tackle the severe problem of the unchallenged presence of several million Muslims running loose in our midst is a DISGRACE.
IF, as the anti-war crowd suggests W. is cynically prosecuting this war for the sake of cheap oil and ultimate personal gain and because he is somehow the "slave" of Israel, then he deserves to fail. But I doubt the truth of those assertions.
