WASHINGTON - The growing number of paid employees on Senator John F. Kerry's early campaign staff has raised questions about whether he will break with the public financing system for the 2004 campaign, as George W. Bush did in his successful campaign for president.

"Everybody has to figure out how much it will take to beat [Bush]; not how much you can have, but how much you need to win," said the finance chief for one candidate, speaking on the condition of anonymity.

They forget Bush has all the "right" people on his side. We're even better than having money.

The person noted that during the 2000 campaign, Gore and his running mate, Lieberman, received more of the popular vote than Bush despite being outspent in the election.

Yeah, but did they factor in Dim's voter fraud? I don't think so.

The Federal Election Commission estimates $36 million will be needed to cover the 2004 primaries, far less than the $4.6 million expected to be available.

Good. I hope they spend EVERY STINKING NICKLE of their personal fortune in this vain attempt to win the Presidency. It doesn't matter how much they spend, it won't matter. Of all the possible dimocratic candidates, he is the least worrisome, even less so than Sharpton and Dean.

No matter how they spin it, he's just TOO DAMN UGLY to attract the mindless suburban female vote that is absolutely necessary for a dimocratic candidate to do well in a swing state.

At the end of the day, Kerry will be broke and ugly, and can spend the rest of his days griping about the high rate of taxes levied on working families, like his, who have to scrape by 40-50K a year or so.

And before any of you holier-than-thou types jump on my case, I certainly don't think I'm the best looking guy in the world, but I'm not idiotic enough to think I can win the Presidency, either.
