This article was sent by a liberal friend/foil to me. It seems like it would be an act of breath taking stupidity to hire a firm to conduct easily traceable criminal activity. This usually indicates to me that something is missing from this story.
Anyone have more insight here?

The Rats would have done the same thing if they'd thought of it first. I'm sure the party didn't realize it was illegal, could have happened to anyone. It really is funny.

...jammed get-out-the-vote phone banks operated by the citys firefighters union and the state Democratic Party. That would be hillarious if it weren't illegal.

Why was the union spending funds of its members without a vote?

A shame if this happened ... will there also be an investigation of the "rolling roadblock" the RATs are purported to have used. That was supposedly on the interstate highway system. Sounds federal to me.
See Primary School - Field organization (Albert Gore's team sabotaged 2000 New Hampshire primary) which starts "Vice-President Al Gore may have won the 2000 New Hampshire primary and subsequent primaries, which fed on the New Hampshiregenerated momentum thanks to a traffic jam. At least thats what many Democratic operatives with experience in New Hampshire seem to think. "

This would seem very easy to prove. And, if by some stretch it did occur, how incredibly stupid of the person(s) involved!

Huh? Since when is it illegal for a group of Republicans to make lots of phone calls?
Take a hike, liberal whiners. There are plenty of ways for you all to contact your dead/felons/pets/children/non-existent voters and get them to the polls.

I do not challenge the notion that calls were placed by
a telemarketing firm hired by the GOP. I wonder why
more democrats were affected by the incident than
Republicans?
