I heard David Hunt just say that he has sources saying Saddam and his sons are about to be confirmed dead in the restaurant strike that took place last week.

I hope W goes to the UN with one vial full of ashes saying "this is all that's left of Sadamn and his sons" and another vail saying "this is some of the 500 liters of VX we found. Any member of the UN is welcome to sniff both vials if they are not convinced."

Two weeks? if they truly *know* he's about to be confirmed dead, then two weeks would either mean that they really don't know he's dead and this is just another guess, or they do know and it's a strategic delay in the announcement (maybe don't want to make him a martyr quite yet?).
Bah, just let me know when he *is* confirmed dead.

Heard some about that this morning on ABC radio news. That is, the word seems to have been out for several hours and it isn't quite official. They had Saddam's DNA a few days ago, so this would have been the DNA test.

Figured that when the WH Chief of Staff Andy Card said he thought Saddam was dead in his interactive chat yesterday that he was most likely dead. No way Card would have said that if they didn't think there was solid evidence to confirm he was dead.
