ITHACA-- Three anti-war demonstrators chose to spend six days in Tompkins County jail instead of paying a fine for trespassing during a die-in at a military recruitment station.
Daniel Burns, Peter Demott and Clare Grady were sent to jail by Town of Lansing Judge John Howell Wednesday. At the court appearance, the three indicated they would not pay the imposed $100 fine.

Laurels to the Judge for imposing jail time.
Darts to the judge for giving them a choice of fines or jail and the chance to make this "no more money for war" argument.
Further darts to the judge for not sentencing each of them to the maximum.

"They felt that in good conscious they could not have more of their money going to the government paying for the military machine," Stewart said. Hello? NONE of the city funds "pay for the military machine." They DO pay the cops to round up clowns like you.

Par for the course. Since when has a liberal demonstrated logic or a proper grasp of federalism?
To: Behind Liberal Lines
Forget federalism, just elementary civics. DUH

Pity they can't be housed in a more, er, diverse prison.

These three fools are a bunch of clowns. As for the juveniles who took part, they do not represent my generation. Most of the people at my school supported the President and the troops after 9/11 and during Iraq. They would never do anything as stupid as this.

Instead, these grandstanding jackasses cost the city money to house them in jail.
I hope the city feeds them dorm food for all six days.

"They felt that in good conscious they could not have more of their money going to the government paying for the military machine," I cannot, in good conscience, let this go uncorrected.

Hopefully they will be deloused and have belts and shoe laces removed.
Maybe you can recommend that their jailers contact the FairFax County VA Sheriff to find out the recipe for "the loaf." It's a nutitonal but foul tasting vegitarian concoction that was given to our local young sniper.
