My daughter landed a job writing for a magazine! We are so pleased. And my son joined a debate team this year, debating the RESOLVED that the US should significantly change its trade policy within one or both areas: the Middle East and/or Africa. You cannot believe the change in him! He was 13 when he started this year, and his critical thinking has grown tremendously. He learned government, foreign and trade policies, economics, and many things!! His partner is the same age, and they went 3-3 in one of their tournaments. they debate both affirmative and negative positions everytime they debate- and debate 6 rounds in a day! It has been a tremendous experience.
Sure miss seeing you! You know where I am, though. I may stop back to join your threads after our National Speech and Debate tournament. It is in our state this year, and I am on the judge coordinator committee. Have been recruiting supreme court justices, college professors and lawyers, etc. to be judges for us. We need 800 judges, and we have found them all! It is next week. Hope to have a LOT more time on my hands after it is over.
