Canada To Consider Bible As Hate Literature (Legislation considered in Fall)
Mission Network News ^ | 7/28/03

Canada headlines today's news as Christians are being asked to pray as the country's parliament is now in summer recess. At issue is proposed legislation that would consider the Bible 'hate literature' because of its stand on homosexuality. International Bible Society's Stan Kellner. "As individual groups and nations turn away from the word of God as their mooring in life, unfortunately these are some of the very typical things that happen. Now what we have are groups who are saying, 'hey, because the Bible has these particular verses, we can call that hate literature.'" Kellner says the legislation will be considered in the fall. He says now is the time to pray. "You know, as we look in the book of Daniel we're reminded about how God says that I can raise up kings and I can bring them down. Yes, legislation can be a challenge to all of us, but we've seen even here in our United States that, while it doesn't always happen, when groups come together to pray, impact can be made."

Well, it's pretty inhospitable to sodomize someone, isn't it? :)

Might finally be time for the "American Revolution" to take place in Canada.

Better late than never.

I wonder how many other holy books, like the Koran and others, will be outlawed, too?

Something fishy about this. I'd sure like to see an independent cite of this alleged legislation.

Just the Bible. It's popular to take a cheap shot at religion, anywhere. I haven't forgotten the 9th district court in San Fancisco that tried to ban the "Under God" part of the of the Pledge of Allegiance.

I imagine they will ban the Koran then, too, because of it's take on anyone not Islamic. (/sarcasm)

To enforce this, the police will need to conduct a door-to-door search for Bible confiscation. Would like to hear some cops of the JB variety on this one. Would they pursue such an order and how they would feel if they were meet by armed resistance?

But we know that were one step away from this in the US. The police community would love nothing more than to fill their jails with "religous criminals". It's just part of the law enforcement culture's distain for the church.

But...but...the Qu'ran is the book of the Religion of Peace ® !

Leftist mantra: Christians evil. All other religions good.
