Ward Connerly filed suit against state officials Tuesday, claiming a newly signed law violates California's constitutional ban on race-based preferences.

Connerly contends that AB 703 is an "end run" around Proposition 209, passed by voters in 1996 to prohibit preferences in state hiring, contracting and education.

Right after election 2000 -- it was clear the Dems were going to go OUTSIDE the US in any and all efforts, by any means possible, to regain their "powah base". This is one more effort. Recall, Colin Powell walked out of the "International Conference on Race" in Durban, Africa -- wherein various countries proposed to enact wording that branded the US, England, and Israel as "racist" nations. pfft.

God bless Ward Connerly.

We need to vigorously support him. He is a lone figure surrounded by enemies and fools.

I'm ashamed of Connerly. Doesn't he mean "undocutmented"?

"All this does is clarify to everyone what racial discrimination is," Lopez said.

Racial discrimination in favor of the "correct" group is not discrimination.
Racial discrimination against the right people is not discrimination.

Racial prejudice by minorities against others is not racism.

If you disagree with any of the above, you are an extremist hate-monger and should be arrested and sent to jail.

Any further "clarification" needed?

The law allows ``special measures'' to ensure that minorities get equal treatment, using language from a 1960s United Nations treaty to define racial discrimination as ``any distinction, exclusion, restriction or preference based on race, color, descent or national or ethnic origin'' designed to prevent equal rights.

I am seeing red right now! They don't call him Red Davis for nothing! When 60% of the American people want the US out of the UN, Davis signs this bill implementing more of the UN agenda in California.

Look at the EU for an example, they central EU gov is ignoring and gutting the smaller members laws in a tax and power grab.

Did congress ratify this treaty? I doubt it, it is not part of the law. If anything this would be
California violating the supremacy clause by negotiating international treaties outside the US federal gov.

More reason to recall davis and say NO to bustamante.

NO NO not NO YES

No, San Jacinto -- the laws you've listed are exactly what the socio/facists have devised to accord to ANY who disagree with their imperial highnesses.

They are still very upset over Colin Powell walking out of that Durban conference. How dare he! "He's not a.. "real" black, the cretins assert.

I think that being "left-wing" means only using one front lobe all the time (like a warped and broken record); ignoring and bypassing the other lobes. Ergo, how dare you bring up Jim Crow Laws! That's ancient history -- they assert (in changing the subject).

I agree that we need to bypass the current "UN" groups -- the ones that are so PC -- they act as self-proclaimed kings and queens. But, I'm not against working with sane countries.

GO WARD GO!!!

Do NOT give any money to the GOP/RNC this year...instead give it to people like Ward Connerly, Jesse Lee Peterson, and individual CONSERVATIVE candidates (or those who are "strategerically" important) like Marvin Scott, Vernon Robinson and Tom Tancredo.

It was their [DEM] plan all along; but Bush got elected; not Algore. The Dems owe big time. And they are very desperate. They've been playing footsies with some nasty international characters for too many years; and they have to get "their agreements" passed, or else. It's why, IMHO, Dems are not bothered at all by how absurd and corrupt they are openly being -- these are desperate people who made "agreements" with others outside the US.
