Actually one can get pretty suspicious, no tinfoil needed.

There was also a large power outage across 5 northern states in
Malaysia. The power was back online after 5 hours.
PM Mahathir said: "Looks like we cannot escape the blackout. Recently, there was a blackout in New York, London...now it's our turn"
Before we get all excited though, someone needs to take a look at the past history of power cuts in all the countries and also consider the modern increase of electricity usage (with things like computers) as well as the high temperatures in many places.
