This article is not the Gospel.

It is telling you how you got to that point.

AMEN. And it's a great article, solidly written according to Scriptural truths. May God gives eyes to see that "salvation is of the Lord." Period.

Arminian synergists assert that prevenient grace resolves the problem of human boasting since God initiates with grace. But in reality this sleight of hand does not resolve the problem at all and only begs the question. For if God gives this prevenient grace to everybody, we must ask: why do some with this grace respond positively to Christ and not others? What makes them to differ? Jesus Christ or something else? The problem of boasting is not removed, for if God gives grace to everybody and only some believe, then the heart that believes still thinks that it made the wiser decision by improving on grace while others did not. So in the Arminian belief system, faith springing from the heart of the unregenerate man is what makes him to differ from other men, not grace, since all had grace.

AMEN!

The bottom line is that men are saved not by their good works or their own righteousness and obedience or their clever decisions or even by their choice to believe. Men are saved by grace, and grace alone, given by God freely, not according to merit, but according to His good pleasure alone, as He ordained from before the foundation of the world.

And that grace, freely given by God to whom He will, is made effective by Christ's obedience, Christ's righteousness, Christ's blamelessness, all graciously imputed to the believer. We are judged acquitted of our sins not by our own merit, but by Christ's merit mercifully marked down to our account.

That is why Christians rejoice. Not because we are smarter or more pious than those who do not believe; but because God has named us to numbered among Christ's flock through nothing in ourselves. Through mercy alone. Mercy triumphs over judgment. Grace, and not debt.

"Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Christ has been born of God" (1 John 5:1)

AMEN!

A correct understanding of God's election is central to our confidence in Christ's ability to redeem His flock.

"Therefore said I unto you, that no man can come unto me, except it were given unto him of my Father." -- John 6:65
