...and the legal drawing and re-drawing of of the lines have been done over and over, over and over again by Jews and Gentiles, Empires and Rebels since it was united as a "State" under David and then divided after just one generation, after Solomon.
You might want to ask most religiously observant of the Israeli Jews, the nearly million-strong Haredi, why they support a State of Palestine, when the secular agnostic Jews do not?
Pope St Pius X would have nothing to do with supporting a Jewish state.
Most Haredi are anti-zionists because they believe that Israel will not be a country again until Messiah comes. They don’t doubt that one day Israel will take over all the land promised by God, they just believe that they need to wait for Messiah to take care of business. However, an ever increasing number of Haredi youth are enrolling in the IDF and getting ready to defend their country.
Mrs. Don-o, don't go there. I have dealt at length with anti-Zionist Orthodox on other threads. They are simply not what their chrstian supporters are making them out to be.
I am disappointed.
mmm...
Recognizing that the State of Israel is a secular creation, not a truly Jewish nation, is hardly the same thing as supporting a ‘State of Palestine’. While Israeli politics is truly bizarre, I’m confident that this particular issue can be understood.
