The early church fathers, some of whom were complicit in promoting this, also believed Jerusalem's destruction and the Jewish diaspora was a clear sign that the Jews were no longer God's elect.

The Jews who followed Jesus are the Jews who are God's elect. (And the Gentiles who are grafted onto the vine -- they too are God's elect.)

The Jews who reject Jesus are like the rebels who followed Korah. Are Korah's rebels still God's elect? Obviously not.

As John the Baptist said centuries later, God can make descendants for Abraham out of stones. Ethnicity or blood mean nothing.

Disagree? Take it up with John the Baptist.

The Good News is, anyone still alive, Jew or Gentile, can become part of the Chosen People by accepting Jesus. But reject Jesus, and you walk away from being Chosen. God is not replacing you. You've replaced yourself.

The first “Replacement Theologist” was Justin (the) Martyr (executed 165), whose writings were refined and harvested by Eusebius of Caesarea (260-339), who was a strong advisor to Constantine, and wrote the ten books of “Church History”. I strongly recommend a book written by Dr. Paul L. Maier - “Eusebius - The Church History”. It is one of the better summaries that I have read regarding Constantine’s development of the early Church.

God declared the chosen people. He has never updated this. Therefore it remains in force.

What is a Jew? A Jew keeps the Torah. What is the Torah? It is the connection between Heaven and earth. It describes God and foretells the coming of the Messiah Time begins when the Word of God is upon the earth and known by men.The Jews transmit the Torah, utterly intact through Time.
