Several Oversights to Watch Out For When Pope Francis Abrogates Humanae Vitae

Humanae Vitae, Pope Paul VI's 1966 encyclical disallowing the use of artificial contraception in marriage, is expected to be overturned by Pope Francis soon. Among several things to watch out for are, failure to distinguish between contraception methods that likely involve the early abortion of a living fetal human and those which don't; ignoring the capacity of governments to use anti-birth policy as a way of tyrannizing their populations; and ignoring the tendency of contraception to lead to women being treated as objects.

A traditional Christmas-time carol, the Coventry Carol, has the line:

Herod the King, in his raging,

charged he hath this day,

his men of might, in his own sight,

all young children to slay.

That is, the music is about what are called "The Holy Innocents", male children under that age of 2 around Bethlehem who were murdered because the Magi dodged Herod when he told them to report on the Child pointed to by the star, "so that I might also worship him".

Now the 19th and 20th centuries were full of governments and their wealthy controllers, being obsessed with other peoples having too many children -- with all kinds of excuses, but amounting to the fact that, "if we're not going to have our own children, they're going to increase their populations while ours declines and they will take over".

This type of thinking was referred to by Theodore Roosevelt in a 1905 speech in which he warned White Anglo Saxon Protestants that they were committing "race suicide", in his own words. The Rockefellers were functionally obsessed with the prospect that Catholics, who were forbidden to limit their family size with artificial means, would take over in the Protestant demographic vacuum.

(This history has not finished being written, as the leadership of the World Economic Forum are dedicated to culling 98% of the world population, however, they've made a poor start of it, because their own people, the ones who will take the secret contraception in vaccines, are being killed off, and the dissenters won't take the jab and will live to reproduce.)

As it affects the abrogation of Humanae Vitae, we can't expect a very intellectually rigorous document releasing the prohibition, so the obsession of the oligarchs, the 2,800 billionaires who meet at Davos, and the governments they control--which means, all of them--so that Humanae Vitae's concerns about government compulsion to limit population will be unaddressed. This is largely to be the case, since Pope Francis has close connections with Klaus Schwab's wife, and seems to aspire to be the secular Chaplain to the great reset.

Likewise, there won't be any mention of Humanae Vitae's point that women are treated as objects the more there is the bio-technocratic engineering of pushing them out of natural relationships and use of artificial means of getting them to stay in the workforce, cutting wages, a big focus of oligarchic population policy.

We saw this issue in a footnote of Pope Francis' document, Amoris Laetitia, in which a scenario was projected, that a woman who wants to go back on physical relations in a second marriage unapproved by the Catholic Church, in order to receive Holy Communion, faces the desertion of the children by her second husband. She would try to refrain from connubial relations until she can get an annulment and have both the marital and Eucharistic sacraments. This is a way of boxing her into a prison, the only escape from which is for people not sacramentally married to be able to receive Communion, against the age-old rule. It makes her an object, by making the man's physical desires unavoidable, as if he were only an irrational animal and she is a kind of living centerfold.

Likewise it will be expected that Pope Francis' document overturning Humanae Vitae, will fail to acknowledge that some forms of contraception include a high incidence of being the cause of abortions of already conceived, embryonic persons. The blanket release from the old rules is unlikely to acknowledge this distinction, because lack of the intellectual rigor which was the striking characteristic of all previous pontificates, is largely absent in this one.

So he is canceling the sanctity of life?

Everything Humanae Vitae predicted is coming true. To say it was false is a complete joke.

Jorge Bergoglio, like Lucifer, is a rationalist leading people into mortal sin.

“ So he is canceling the sanctity of life?”

No he is saying he is.

The Relevant Radio guy today was trying to dismiss a heterodox statement made by el Francisco heretico by saying that Popes have throughout history said unorthodox stuff and that’s being just like anyone else, so it isn’t a good enough reason to leave the Catholic church. I can think of a hundred or so things he’s said and done that keep me from ever considering switching over to Rome; this would be another, and not a small one either.

Notice the word is, which means it has not yet transpired. 🙂

Otherwise, I would have said has, not is. 🙂

P.S. The Coventry Carol is the #1 most underrated Christmas song in the repertoire. One time I soloed it at a service of lessons and carols, and I could barely finish it because of choking up. (Ditto “Jesus Christ the Apple Tree.”) Back to our calling out heresy...

Who is expecting this and why? I can’t see his doing that and can’t find any evidence that he is considering it.

The issue of divorced and remarried receiving the Eucharist is disciplinary in that the remedy (annulment) is under discipline. That could be set up differently.

But HV is a re-statement of the Church’s *moral* teaching and thus cannot be changed.

How can they abrogate an immemorial Church teaching? HV didn't create something new, it merely stated Church teaching that cannot be changed.

You can tell divorced people they can recieve, but that doesn’t change the fact the Bible says they are damaging themselves. It just demonstrates you have a lack of empathy or concern for such people.

Also, trying to abrogate HV involves abrogating Casti Connubii, which contains wording that sounds very much like infallible teaching:

Since, therefore, openly departing from the uninterrupted Christian tradition some recently have judged it possible solemnly to declare another doctrine regarding this question, the Catholic Church, to whom God has entrusted the defense of the integrity and purity of morals, standing erect in the midst of the moral ruin which surrounds her, in order that she may preserve the chastity of the nuptial union from being defiled by this foul stain, raises her voice in token of her divine ambassadorship and through Our mouth proclaims anew: any use whatsoever of matrimony exercised in such a way that the act is deliberately frustrated in its natural power to generate life is an offense against the law of God and of nature, and those who indulge in such are branded with the guilt of a grave sin.

I remember reading some early father of the church, and I paraphrase here, to frustrate conception, to prevent the seed from planting, is equal to killing the child conceived.

It made me wonder if the thinking on contraception came from early scientific theory, that the human embryo came entirely from the father, and the mother was merely the ground in which it grew.

This is reflected in very orthodox Jewish teaching: if it is inadvisable for a wife to become pregnant, say for reasons of health, she is to use hormonal contraception rather than she or her husband using a barrier: the seed must get through, even though hormonal contraception is more likely to affect her health than a barrier.
