Over the years it seems to me that just about every ‘diocese’ on the planet has been overwhelmed with child-abuse lawsuits.

Why anyone on the planet with half a brain cell would choose to remain catholic, or for that matter, connected to any religious institution, is beyond me.

If you want to know where the pedophiles and pederasts are just find out where the children are.

In order to discourage pedophilia and pederasty by strangers we need to eliminate all organizations where large numbers of children are gathered together: churches, schools, scouting organizations, sports leagues, child occupations such as TV and movies, etc.

Then the only pedophilia and pederasty we have to worry about is familial abuse.

Same here. Churches are institutions of man which is why they have always been and remain corrupt. No one needs to pray in church or confess to a priest to have a close relationship to God.
