Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem

Abba Father,
Blessed Are You,
Oh LORD, Our God!
King of the Universe,
Ancient of Days,
Rock of All Ages!

We Ask that this will open the eyes
of people in our own Nation.

We ask for forgiveness for ourselves and for America, for our sins.
Dear Father, and we Pray for Our Nation.
We ask You to reverse the trends of evil and selfishness
that have taken hold in our own Land.
We beg that You will restore Faith in You,
The One True God,
and that ALL that has been hidden shall be revealed.

Let all that has been Concealed
Be Revealed.

Father, We Pray For The Peace Of Jerusalem,
According To Your Will and Promise.
We Pray That You Will Forgive The Sins
of Our Own Nation,
and Lead us all to Godly Repentance.
Create in Us Clean Hearts, Oh LORD,
and Renew a Right Spirit Within Us.

This we Pray Together,
As We Await Your Messiah,
Blessed Be He,
To Set Up His Kingdom,
And Make All Things Right.

God Bless America.

Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem

The Names and Titles of God (Seed of Woman)

Genesis 3:15

15 And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.

King James Version

Tippy, my four-year old Aussie Cattle Dog, is very energetic. Even after our daily walk (three miles usually) she still has a lot of energy. She bombs through the kitchen door, grabs her toy snake, and shakes it ferociously. The toy snake, which is over three feet long, squeaks and squeals piteously as Tippy slams it around. If it were a real snake, it would have been dead long ago, but the incessant squeaking alerts Tippy that it's "not quite dead yet", and therefore, needs more Killin'. This herpetological confrontation occurs several times a day, and until Tippy actually shreds the snake and removes all the squeakers, it will be a part of my life with her. She has already killed several of these "indestructible" snakes in our two years together. She's on her fourth snake so far, and there's another one lurking in the closet awaiting her ministrations.

Why does it give me such pleasure watching Tippy engage in her Zoomies and Snake-Killing? I actually laugh out loud when she goes into this type of behavior. While there were some venomous snakes to watch out for in Florida, New England is not really what you would call "Snake Country". I'm not totally afraid of snakes, and recognize some of them as beautiful creatures (that make nice cowboy boots!). Unlike Indiana Jones, I don't freak out when I see a snake, and have actually patted a 9-foot, bright yellow, Burmese Python. It wasn't slimy or "icky", but cool, dry, and incredibly smooth to the touch. That creature should NOT have been kept as a pet, especially in Florida, where now, discarded pythons are infesting the Everglades.

Most of us have an aversion to snakes, even the nonvenomous ones. The Ancient Egyptian Snake "god" named Apophis was said to devour the sun each evening, and eliminate it from his body at dawn (how romantic!). Depicted in tomb paintings, Apophis is the epitome of evil.

Apophis was once more in the public eye, 5000 years after the Tomb Paintings, In the 1994 Movie Stargate, and the subsequent TV Series, Apophis was the name of a snake-like Alien who invaded people's bodies and took over their souls. That was probably the first time the public heard the name of the snake in over 2000 years. But it would not be the last.

In 2004, an asteroid was discovered that looked as though it was heading straight for Planet Earth. The folks at NASA, who were probably Stargate fans, named the asteroid Apophis. Fortunately, for both Planet Earth and the Asteroid, the threat of Apophis hitting the planet was mitigated in 2021. (Whew!).

The general public's aversion to snakes is reflected in story and song. One particular song that has resurfaced lately is called The Snake.

So why do we hate snakes so much? They aren't slimy, they eat insects and rodents, and they usually stay out of our way. Some of them are quite beautiful, But most of us, especially us women, really HATE them.

This enmity goes all the way back to the Garden of Eden. Because the snake deceived Eve and caused her to sin against God, it was put under a curse. The curse was that it would crawl on its belly and eat dust, and people (especially women) would be repulsed by it.

While I was able to "pet" the Burmese Python, I would never consider having one as a "pet". Like the "Snake" in the song, they don't respond to mercy and kindness. It's just their nature. They're snakes for heaven's sake!

All this talk about snakes and songs and killer meteors brings us to Today's Name of God. This One is for the Messiah and is the "Seed of Woman" who will crush the head of the snake. The Messiah will be wounded in the process, but the Snake WILL be crushed.

This is a Messianic Prophecy given by God Himself to Eve, and is a Message of Hope.

This is the First Prophecy of the Messiah in the Old Testament. There will be many more, but this is one of the most colorful metaphors for the Good News, and is in the first few pages of the Book.

Come and Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem, For Our FRiends in Need, For Persecuted Believers, and For Our Beloved Nation.

For whatever is hidden is meant to be disclosed, and whatever is concealed is meant to be brought out into the open. (Mark 4:22)

God Bless America.

Blessings To All Who Visit This Garden of Prayer.

Hallelujah and Amen
