Great article! Having a temper myself, I have done a lot of reading lately about this subject and this is one of the better articles I've come across. Thanks! My favorite scripture on the subject thus far has been Ecclesiastes 7:9 - "Be not hasty in thy spirit to be angry: for anger resteth in the bosom of fools." I have it taped to my computer monitor at work. It really helps when my frustration levels build up.

Therefore when Jesus teaches that an unforgiving spirit or bitterness leads to judgment and not to salvation he means that bitterness is a kind of unbelief. And the way to fight against it is to fight the fight of faith. The battle against bitterness in our hearts is not an effort to work our way to heaven. It's a battle to believe the word of God, and bank on the promises of his grace.

I have a rather easy going temperment..I "flare "up and cool off quick..(ya just do not want to be around during the flare:>)..But my Pastor raised the point that "hurt feelings" are a form of "anger"..I need to re examine my self ..
