If FR didn't exist I wouldn't have had the chance to see Hillarybeast booed live!

I bet a lot of people there found that the highlight of the night.

On another thread before the show last night I said I was not up to watching the show but I wished it the best. I couldn't anyway since I ditched my cable last year. I did catch the early part of this thread last night. I was amazed to see it's length this morning. I was going to read it to see the Freeper reaction which may have been better than the show itself. The freeper reaction thread probably was better for the prior fundraiser from Hollywood which some compared to a satanic mass. I have enjoyed the reactions so far and am grateful for all the commentaries. Blessings to all.

you just said he had guts for doing what he loves best, being in the limelight! How much "guts" does it take to show off when you love it? Why should I "lighten up" on someone I consider to be a threat to society? The guy needs to retire and stop causing trouble.

no no.. i wasn't saying the guy was on anything.. i was just responding to someone calling him "gutsy" for appearing in public.

What happened with Gere?

He gave a speech that would do Shirley McClaine proud(New Age pacifism) and got booed.

From the fund's website.

Established in 1988, Robin Hood fights poverty in New York City by applying investment principles to charitable giving. We find and fund the most effective programs helping poor New Yorkers build better lives for themselves and their families. We then leverage our financial support with in-depth management, legal and accounting assistance. Additionally, each year Robin Hood solicits and distributes tens of millions of dollars in donated goods and services. The process is straightforward: partner with programs, hold them accountable, learn from their results, and help them grow. In short, we provide whatever it takes to maximize their effectiveness in helping the poorest New Yorkers break the cycle of poverty. All of Robin Hood's administrative and fundraising costs are fully underwritten by our Board of Directors, ensuring that every penny donated goes directly to those who need it most.

I know people involved with Robin Hood. They're very reputable. I'd trust them over other charities in a heartbeat. "Imvestment principles" are republican codewords meaning they don't throw money at problems that don't get results. 'Nuff Said!

dc-zoo says he recorded the event digitally. Earaiak says he can put it on the web. Maybe you two should talk, and we can get our Hillary Video!

Well, just put that idea out of your head. :-)

Mercuria is going to come out of nowhere and without even trying, is going to grab number 2000 from the rest of us.

I speak from experience. :-)

By the way he walked into the closest firehouse to the WTC and gave away 100 front row tickets worth $2000 each to the firemen.

From another thread:

"Sir Paul took the lead in organising and promoting the concert, which sold out seats ranging from £1,500 to £4,000. He even set off through the streets of Manhattan with his fiancee Heather Mills to distribute 100 tickets worth £1,500 each to firefighters at their stations after he heard that few were [not] attending because ticket prices were too high."

What an event! The music, for the most part was excellent. From the opening ethereal cover by David Bowie of "America", to the rousing and heartwarming "Let it Be" and "Freedom" at the end. I can't wait for the CD to come out. Assuming there's a DVD version, I'll break down and get a DVD player.
