Anyone who donates at this point has a screw loose anyway, IMHO. With barely 5% of the more than ONE BILLION DOLLARS already collected having actually been distributed to any affected families, and most of that having been given out only after extreme pressure was applied publicly by the likes of Bill O'Reilly, it's going to be a loooooong time before I give any "charitable" organization a penny.
If you really want to make a difference, get online, find the name of someone that was killed, and cut a check directly to his/her family. Even better, go out of your way to make sure that your money goes to one of the "less-worthy-of-recognition" families, such as those whose family members were working in WTC restaurants for $9/hr, while support five or six kids at home, that have gotten almost zero media attention. The already-ultrawealthy Cantor Fitzgeraldites have gotten almost 100% of the press coverage thus far, and they're the least needy of all.
