The man is a genuine hero. May God rest his soul and take care of his lovely family.

No offense to Beatles fans, but its sad that the media spent (and is still spending) much more time on Harrison's death then to tell us about this american hero's life.

May God rest his hand upon the family.

I assume the CIA takes care of its own/will take good care of Spann's family.

Mike, you're in good company now. There with Todd, Jeremy, Tom, Sandra, Linda and the others of Flight 93; and those brave fireman from the WTC.
Thank you. Thank you all.

O, thus be it ever when freemen shall stand,
Between their lov'd homes and the war's desolation;
Thanks to all those who stand between us and war's desloation.

Thank you for keeping his memory alive and alerting us by posting the photos of his arrival back on U.S. soil. Manassas isn't far from Burke where I live and D.C. proper. Hopefully, I can find an address in the phone book to send sympathies and prayers to Johnny "Mike" Spann's family. If not, cards sent to the CIA headquarters in Langley will probably be forwarded to his widow.

Thank you "Mike" Spann. I believe you are safely home!
I pray God keeps your family safe in the palm of his hand.
Safely Home
I am home in Heaven, dear one; Oh, so happy and so bright!
There is perfect joy and beauty in this everlasting light.
All the pain and grief is over. Every restless tossing passed.
I am now at peace forever. Safely home in Heaven at last.
Did you wonder I so calmly trod the valley of the shade?
Oh! but Jesus' love illumined every dark and fearful glade.
And He came Himself to meet me, in the way so hard to tread;
And with Jesus' arm to lean on, Could I have one doubt or dread?
Then you must not grieve so sorely, for I love you dearly still:
Try to look beyond earth's shadows, Pray to trust our Father's Will.
There is work still waiting for you, so you must not idly stand;
Do it now, while life remaineth--You shall rest in Jesus' land.
When that work is all complete, He will gently call you Home;
Oh, the rapture of that meeting, Oh, the joy to see you come!

I read that he was bitten to death by men with their hands tied at the elbows.

Another sad bump.

Take a look at mother Gail in photo #7...true grit. Wife Shannon also works at CIA, I believe. I know you are home in heaven, John Spann. Thank you.
