The whole thing is a non issue!

Until we get enough conservative judges in SCOTUS to over turn Roe B Wade, no governor of any state can stop abortions.

The lefties know this and Simon should just stand up and say I'm pro life, but I can do nothing about abortions and you know that!

Before conservatives jump on me, I am 100% pro life. However, the reality is that electing Simon to be governor of California will not have any impact on abortions in California while he is governor.

To stop abortions, we must elect enough conservative US senators to have a clear majority in the senate. Then GW has to nominate conservative judges for the Supreme Court and the senate needs to approve them. When we have enough, the baby murdering judgement will be set aside.

Until then we need to stop the left wing maggots on their number one card, the abortion card. It is a non issue until the Supreme Court changes the ruling. Simon and other republican governors cannot stop abortion. It is that simple!

You said it better than I could. The lefties want to keep this issue alive, when we should be looking at the big picture, and we fall for it every time.

Your position seems to be the same as Simon's. The one addition I will make is there are some issues the governor can have an impact: unborn protection laws; informed consent laws; waiting period laws; Partial birth abortion laws(possibly)etc. For example, Viriginia's legislature passed some kind or right-to-know act last week, which the governor may veto.

That is incorrect. There is a great deal that a Governor can do. He can sign parental notification (which caused a 20% drop in teen abortions in Texas in one year), he can sign parental consent. He can push for and sign informed consent and a 48-hour waiting period before an abortion can be obtained in non-emergency situations. He can de-fund Planned Parenthood completely, in fact he can pass legislation wiping out family-planning funding of any kind.
