A true luxury hotel in Los Angeles would be the Four Seasons, which starts at $390 a night. Since Century City is closer to Beverly Hills than downtown, it might be better compared to the Regent Beverly Wilshire, at a paltry $375 a night and up (and up and up - the highest room rate it would give me was $900 a night, and their 3,500 square foot Presidential Suite is presumably not available at the moment, but far, far more expensive if it was.)
This is dangerous ground anyway, because I'm sure Bill Simon stays in a very nice luxury hotel wherever he travels, therefore helping create jobs for the fine people who run luxury hotels.
Let 'em stay wherever they want. The valid reason to criticise them is to comment on how they perform, and I daresay both Davis and Clinton have much to answer on that subject.

However, what I said was with regard to the attendees.
People who support the likes of H can't afford the valet parking at the Century Plaza or they're investors in the Century Plaza.
