We don't buy junk bonds from companies, states, cities and the Facist state of Kali.

Good point. Junk status and getting worse.

It is fixable, but will take new leadership and power, which I hope, for Californians sake, can be delivered. Even if Simon wins, the real question is can he get support for good policies.

Daschle has shown what Rat control of a governing body can do.

The socialists are finally seeing that their utopian ideas of huge government actually cost "real" money, and they don't ever, ever, ever work. They also realize that the American tax payor is not going to stand for anymore of their hard earned money going toward government waste. The simple fact that these social re-arrangement, tax funded, idiotic boondogles are really pi$$ing off the middle class (their meal tickets) is turning the majority of this country into fiscal conservatives doesn't help their chances of holding control. It's true! When it comes to taxes, the majority of the middle class is saying, that's enough, that's by God enough! If I have to balance my budget, then you'd better balance yours, or it's curtains for YOU! This is costing jobs, it's costing family revenue for education of children (you can't trust the public schools, therefore you must spend for private schools), it's costing "quality of life" for the family and the children, it's costing food and shelter for the children. The middle class is finally waking up to the fact that the government is taking food out of their children's mouths to feed others, taking their children's educational opportunities away from them to give them to others. That should never happen in our Republic!

That sounds selfish, doesn't it. Well, frankly Scarlet, I don't give a damn. The laws of man, nature, and God gave me the resposibility of taking care of my children. I would starve so that they could eat, I would die so that they could live.

If the Pols want to do something "for the children" give me my tax money back and I, as their Father, will see to their well being..........it's my job anyway....not some federal bureaucrat! God made Fathers & Mothers because He didn't trust a disinterested party (read bureaucrat) to take care of the precious ones.

I have charity in my soul, and I would donate to take care of the less fortunate, but I can't now because I have to give it to the bandit of taxes! The system is out of control, and the middle class is realizing that. The time has come for the socialists to get out of the way. Giving a liberal politician money is like giving a bottle of whiskey and the car keys to a teenager. I would have more faith in the teenager!

But income tax revenues could rebound later in the year, Peace said, offsetting some of the weakness in April.

Because people and businesses (tax payers) are leaving the oppressive atmosphere in the state and an ever increasing proportion of illegal aliens, sucking on the state tit, are coming in (tax takers).

Sure Mr. Peace (D-umbass), whatever you say.

Isn't Stevie Peace the Rocket Scientist that single handley wrote the "Electricity Deregulation Bill" ? And I hope Cal-Pers gets stuck with those bonds because most of the recipients are Cali 'RATS.

You need to ask Carry Okie about Peace and the flawed deregging bill. He sounds familiar.

Want to have fun with some of liberal maggots who have tenured jobs at Humboldt U? Start kidding them about the potential of CalPers buying these used electicity bonds from Kali to save Fascist Davis's butt. You will see panic in their eyes. I tell their conterparts here, that Davis is getting ready to Enron Cal Pers, their retirement plan and 403's with these new bonds. The rats who make up Cal Pers deserve all of these junk bonds, and Davis will give them a free tube of KY jelly with each big bond they buy.

California is not yet out of the woods on power crises. Pray for a mild summer.

More power blackouts 3 months before the election? I pray for hell on earth in California this summer.

I live in Alaska but I still have family down there...they just won't leave! Having paid taxes to the state for 28 years affords me an opportunity to bitch about it, IMHO. LOL!!

I pray for hell on earth in California this summer ROFLMAO

I was trying to be kind to the residents, but you got a good point. Sometimes the old saying is so true:

NO PAIN, NO GAIN

When the temperature goes a climbin'

They'll all be a votin' Simon.

Yes; interesting few have pointed that out. Davis tried to staunch the bleeding, but wounds not properly tended have a way of reopening themselves.

Has anyone noticed, though, that his handling of this revenue crisis and last year's power crisis are basically the same? He sits and waits while things get worse, and then tries to figure out a solution at the last possible second. Unfortunately economic problems get a lot worse if you handle them that way. His poor leadership of both of these issues - which we would have seen coming months before he did - should be noted carefully.

Now he has to face cutting the budget severely (by 16-odd percent!) right before election time. Good luck.

IIRC, just Davis' luck, a cooler summer is forecast this year for the West coast.

We all must be living in a state of shock and denial. (pun intended) How does Davis do it? And he's doing it again. It's going to hurt a lot-- that's all I know. KY-- does that come in an analgesic? Cal-pers can't get enough of that stuff to ease the pain and inflammation. Consult your doctor if symptoms persist.

I wish I could put one on my car. But it wouldn't do much good here in Texas. But I guess I'll just have to settle with joy of knowing I only had to file one tax return this year. :-)

Not even close! If we were to pay off the national debt, each of us would have to pay about $22,000. Davis will have to do much better if he is to go to the next level. :)

There are two things about me that pretty much determine that I will be conservative 'til I die: One, I'm tight with my money. Two, I can't tolerate inefficiency. And no matter how much the government "cares" or wants to make life wonderful for every living thing in every possible way, it can't do any of those things with efficiency or thrift.

California is not yet out of the woods on power crises

If you really want to stick it to Davis, buy a bunch of solar panels, make the State pay you back 50% of the cost and then sell the excess power to your local electric company for a third of what Davis is paying on his contracts.

Um... I'm talking deficit, not debt.

Davis wants to be President but knows he never can be. So he's turning California into a financial basket-case... just like 50 years of DemocRat domination did in D.C.

Dems are the poster child for bad public schools: "Oh, you mean $10 billion is more than $20 million? But isn't 20 more than 10? Wow, this stuff is hard!"

Energy Crisis Chronology from the American Independent Party

Comments re Senator Peace, Governor Davis, et al--Check out ALL of item 2

"David Takashima, Peace's former chief of staff, now works for PG&E. His role includes steering campaign donations to candidates. Several years ago, Takashima left Peace to work for Edison. He returned to state employment to help Peace craft deregulation policy. Once the deal passed, Takashima left for PG&E.

"Peace's contributions from power companies outpaced any legislator and the governor, according to available records."

Now, now. Given enough time and money, the Dems could make the world into their own little Nirtopia. It just hasn't worked before because these particular Dems weren't in control...that's all!
