Davis says worst-case scenario just got worse

"SACRAMENTO -- Already strapped with a ballooning deficit, California will be required to pay $830 million more than expected for schools next fiscal year, Legislative Analyst Elizabeth Hill said Tuesday. The news comes a day after Hill warned the state's budget hole could swell to more than $20 billion -- or one-fifth of the state budget -- this year and next because revenues in April have dipped billions below forecasts."
