By all appearances on this trip, Bush has gotten over his reservations about Simon, a political newcomer. Bush and his White House political operatives forcefully backed former Los Angeles Mayor Richard Riordan, Simon's opponent in last month's Republican primary.

I don't remember Bush doing anything forceful for RHINOdan during the primary but for the AP it is a fairly low key article.

The latest statewide polls show Simon running well behind Davis.

Polls? How about just one biased poll?
