If Bill Simon doesn't make hay out of this Oracle mess, he deserves to lose.

There is a pretty easy explanation for the article: Oracle's stock is pretty low, and most likely the guy who wrote the article is a short seller, or somebody who is a big short seller wants the stock to be knocked down.
Normally it costs around $20,000 to print or broadcast almost anything. If you have a huge amount of short sales, it pays well to have a couple of guys in the media start broadcasting all kinds of stupid, realted to nothing news.
I think this should be considered a criminal offense, but some people say, let the morons sell when they get scared; at least when the stock rebounds it will get a little higher. Remember Haliburton and asbestos? Same scheme.
I do not have a dog in this fight, it doesn't matter to me which way Oracle goes.

`While we had no conclusive evidence that any shredding or destruction of documents occurred, the mere suggestion that it may have occurred has led us to take these steps,' Goode said in the statement.

Huh? Lets do a retake - the "mere suggestion that it may have occurred has led us to take these steps"? Suggestion by whom??? By Gray Davis? Mickey Mouse? What kind of reporting is this, did anyone think to ask Barry Goode what exactly the "mere suggestion" was, and by whom it was made???

Well ... isn't Oracle part of the cute little group who filed with the DOJ against Microsoft for being a monopoly (along with Sun Microsystems)???
