No, their $25,000 check to Gray Davis' campaign was a fabulous value.
Until it got exposed.

If it was such a "fabulous value," why did they have to bribe Davis $25,000 to take it?

It was a $95 million deal, and Oracle only had to pay Gray a $25,000 campaign contribution? That is dirt cheap. Now I know Gray is an idiot. He could have gotten at least $500,000.

"We've demonstrated that this is a fabulous value proposition for the state, "
said Ken Glueck, vice president for government relations for Oracle....... Glueck's previous position was gov't relations advisor to Enron and Arthur Andersen.

IMHO, during the clinton years(a.k.a. mafia years), this type of cooking the books was encouraged by clinton to make him and the economy look good. all the would-be whistleblowers were afraid to speak up, lest they be audited, black-balled from employment or worse. now that the president-in-mob boss is gone, the whistleblowers are coming out in leaps and bounds.

It's absurd to think every California employee needs an Oracle license.

We've demonstrated that this is a fabulous value proposition for the state, " said Ken Glueck, vice president for government relations for Oracle. This reminds me of the old joke. In a small town, there was a reunion of grads from 30 years ago.
The most successful grad was a beautiful woman, with successes in Hollywood, writing, business and politics.
At the reunion everytime the successful woman was asked about any other grad, her 3 former husbands and peers in Congress or in Hollywood, her re ply was "They are Fabulous, Darling!"
Later in private, one of her oldest friends asked why she constantly use the phrase, "They are Fabulous, Darling!"
The very successful and fellow alum replied, "I learned a long time that to be successful you can't refer to someone or their actions as Bull$***!
So I decided to call Bull$h**, Fabulous. Then, I would know what I really meant when I said, "They are Fabulous, Darling!". I would know and would not be in trouble for what I said.
Now you all know what the word Fabulous means when used in this way by the Absolutely Fabulous Whoreacle spokes clymer!
