"People who gave him less money than we did have gotten more," Johnson said. "You expect favorable treatment. That's why you do it. That's as American as apple pie."

Probably so, but it's still revolting...more like "sh*t" pie than apple.

Well, well, well. Yet another embarrassing and detailed bashing by the California press. And they aren't just copying this stuff from each other, either. A lot of different awkward facts are coming out of the woodwork from different reporters. Looks like investigative journalism is back in style again.

"The governor is not a wealthy man," Salazar said. "All the guys who keep getting thrown up against him are multimillionaires. It's an unfortunate part of campaigning."

No, it's a byproduct of campaign finance 'reform' in California. The power of incumbancy make it tough for people witout clout to raise money. In the old days, they might be backed by a small number wealthy donors. Now, with that avenue shut off, they have to be wealthy themselves.

--and if we would quit calling it "fundraising" and refer to it by its right name-"extortion" it would be a step in the right direction. Whether done by Slick Willie or Red Davis , it means "give me money or the legislative and executive branches of government will be used against you"--

'You know, I really need a million dollars from you guys,'...

What an 'income-bent' California governor is quoted as saying?

But with the conservative Simon flagging in the polls, it would take a full-blown scandal to do him in, said Tim Hodson, executive director of the Center for California Studies at Sacramento State.

The liberal media just doesn't quit. Out of four polls released to the public in April, only ONE (the Field Poll) shows Davis ahead of Simon. (poll, not "polls").

And, the Field Poll was ALL ADULTS, not registered voters, and STILL had Davis unapproval ratings at 49% to 42%!!!!!!!!!!

Simon is NOT "flagging" in the polls, he is AHEAD in the polls, but the liberal media doesn't want anyone to know that!

Freepers, we need to SPREAD THE WORD!!!!!! Tell people the truth about Simon and his appeal. Yes, Davis has more name ID than Simon and Simon will need to work hard for victory, but HE IS LEADING IN THE POLLS!!!!!

Go Simon!
