This one is pretty devastating and definitely not authored by Davis' PR dept.

What would be the odds now that Davis doesn't seek re-election?

This whole California State Oracle thing and the energy thing before it show that the states at least still have a politically genereated responsiveness to some level of self-dealing, bribery and fraud that the Federal government lacks almost at all.

Already, Keene and Baheti have resigned, and Cortez has been suspended with pay, which is $123,000 a year. Oracle and its financing partner, Logicon, now are working with the Davis administration to cancel the contract.

If the contract is cancelled, I guess Oracle will expect Davis to refund the $25,000 payoff.

"What would be the odds now that Davis doesn't seek re-election?"

The odds are 100 percent that he WILL seek re-election. A bet that he will not seek re-election is a sucker bet.

I listened to a little of this and find, shockingly, that the SF Chronicle's report was so thorough and balanced. I do hope there is more to follow...

Well, that is surprising, rather out of character.

What a nightmare for Ms Curry!

It is obvious that the fix for the scam was in/rigged. Her concerns were blown away by the great wine drinker Keene and others in the take. She was ignored by others paid to protect us!

I have to wonder what the Chronicle and the Bee really know about Davis and have been spiking for a year or two.

It is like they uncovered something really bad and have spiked the story. Now this comes along, and they decide to get out of character and do a few good reporting jobs like the stories I posted from yesterday's Chronicle.

Are they having guilt for spiking a really bad story, and this is their pennance?

Few in Sacramento like working for Davis. They may like their incomes and positions, but most can't stand the man. If the permanent staff can find a way to sink him, I think that they'll help us elect Simon.

There was a story in yesterday's Sacramento Bee that said Logicon's parent company, Northrop-Grumman, gave almost $56,000 to Davis's campaign fund. This is in addition to the $25,000 from Oracle. I can't see how this whole deal can pass the smell test.

Great Find! I missed this!

Okay we are up to $81,000 for Davis and over $100,000 for his version of Jake Reno, Lockyer.

Even this $181,000 is not even the frost on the tip of the iceberg that this contract brought Davis.

What so called charities did Whoreacle and LogiCon donate money to after these little gifts. Those funds will find their way back to the re elect Benito Davis chest!

It's too late. He's already the Dem nominee. The primary was March 5th. It is legally impossible for him to remove his name from the ballot at this point.
