The third is not impossible with all the items coming out on Davis!

You are right. I agree that the third is not impossible. Someone said they expect to see lots of such alerts. If there are lots of alerts, the third might be worth discussing in greater depth.

Wouldn't too many dubious alerts be risky if Davis was attempting to use them to political advantage? The result could be the old "boy cried wolf" scenario. People quickly turn a deaf ear to alerts when nothing substantial ever materializes. Then it's impossible to really get their attention when the alert absolutely has to be heeded.

It will be interesting to see what length Davis goes to in this, an election year, to keep the lights on during the sure to come heat waves.

The power brokers are no doubt salivating at the prospect of taking CA to the bank this summer. They'll have leverage like they've never had before.

On a related subject, I was just vacationing in the vicinity of the Glen Canyon and Hoover dams. Both Lake Powell and Lake Mead are 50+ feet below normal. I was told that the low water levels are due to persistent drought conditions combined with excessive releases of water to produce power for CA in the past couple of years. Do you know how much lower these lakes will be permitted to go down or doesn't it really matter? Will they just keep letting the water out as long as they can make a good profit on it?
