He said a $20,000 political contribution from the company to Gov. Gray Davis in February was issued by mistake by an accounts payable clerk. He said the clerk discovered the error and stopped payment on the check, which was reported but never cashed by the Davis campaign.

Really?

Glueck said that the company also donated heavily to members of the Legislature's Latino Caucus because its members are "technology leaders."

Huh?

I have some doubts about this Mr. Glueck.

Florez is beholden to nobody. He wants to run for statewide office.

There is something wrong about that?

Is he accusing the guy and a lack of objectivity because he DIDN'T take Oracle's contributions? I guess ambition in a politician is an evil thing. LOL!

Ken Glueck, Oracle's vice president for government affairs, held a series of media interviews to protest that Assemblyman Dean Florez, D-Shafter, has thus far refused to let the company present its side of the story.

Good Move Florez ... Make shur and switch to the Republican Party too ... You will be a shurfire success in short time I bet...

I like the Shafter touch behind his name, Shaft 'Em All Good Dean :-)

What is that old saying (perhaps from Chicago ) Good Politicians are those that stay bought!

And if Florez won't take his (Oracle's ) he has no chance to prove he is a Good Politician! LOL!

After rereading I see that :Florez is chairman of the Joint Legislative Audit Committee

He is performing to a different standard!
He can not be an ordinary politician!
