This is a blow to Davis. He's regularly touted his "tough on crime" bona fides.

"In the year 2000, crime rose in California by 3.5%...

And that's just counting members of the Davis administration who took bribes to throw public contracts to favored companies!

More good news on a bad news day for Herr Davis!

I still think the fix between the CHP and the union truck drivers went into effect the Day Davis was sworn in.

Since then, I can't remember see a CHP Trooper pulling over a speeding trucker, regardless of how fast that trucker is going.

A few drives on N. Kali expressways this past weekend confirmed that reality again. Twice, we are driving along at 65 with trucks pulling ahead of us (truck speed limit is 55 mph, where a CHP pulls out and speeds past the speeding truckers who don't even slow down when they saw the Chippies coming up behind them.

The Chippies went past the speeding trucks to pull over drivers in passenger cars doing a little faster than the speeding truckers.

It would be really interesting to see if there has been an increase of fatalities due to speeding trucks since Davis became governor. There was some data in the first 1.5 years of his dufusship, and since then nothing.

OF course, no mention of illegal immigrants and their HUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUGE effect on that particular stat. Simon wont touch the issue in his campaign and I cant really blame him, after all 1/3 voters is an illegal and he can't afford to piss them off. Savage is right though, immigration is the #2 issue in CA (what's #1 you ask ?

No COPS support of Davis-

What's different between 1998 and 2002?
