Gray davis is probably the worst governor that California has had in the last 50 years, including that other lunatic, Jerry Brown.

If it's Brown, flush it.
If it's Gray, bury it.

Hey, good ol' Jerry was at least an
interesting lunatic, and wasn't it his runaway spending that inspired Proposition 13?
Gray's just as much of a spendthrift, but he's a boring spendthrift, not even providing us with half-decent entertainment for our misspent dollars.
So yes, I'd say he's worse. Much worse, in fact.

Jerry Brown was and is a hopeless leftist with delusions of creating the perfect society through socialism. But at least everyone knew exactly where he stood on just about everything. Brown is a nut, but he is not viscerally corrupt like Davis.

WHat about the diversity Gray said he believes is what this country was founded on.
That guy is a cypher...no mind at all.

I LOVE the title!
Davis real cognitive dissonance is the conflict of interst and ideology.

Grey Davis has the liberal newspapers in California turning on him almost on a weekly basis. I wonder what they are going to do come endorsment time? The Sacramento Bee has been very aggressive in exposing Davis as a Gov. that's for sale. This should be fun to watch.

Did you all see him posed in front of that blackdrop of blue yesterday for his press conference? It's clear he wants to counter the bad PR he got when the COPS organization endorsed Simon. Most of those people back there looked pretty tight-jawed. I wonder if they were thinking what they seemed to be thinking. (I picked the most flattering picture, of course.)

His zigzagging from corrupt centrism to straightforward liberalism could end up creating more problems than it solves. He is, for example, on the verge of signing a piece of liberal landmark legislation that could inflame auto-loving Californians. AB 1493 "would make California the first state to regulate auto emissions of greenhouse gases to combat global warming," reports the Los Angeles Times. The bill has been bitterly opposed by the auto industry, which predicts that the law will lead to higher taxes and limit the types of vehicles Californians can drive. See this related piece for why I believe he will sign AB1493:
California: Pavley gets national attention after emissions bill approved (Clinton approves)
Also McCain and Kerry see the bill as a way to attack Bush!
To: John Jorsett
I saw him briefly before I switch to something more appetizing!
To: Ernest_at_the_Beach
Davis is caught between the proverbial rock and a hard place with this SUV bill. If he signs it, a lot of moderate voters (including the soccer-mom crowd, except they usually vote for Dems because they are not too bright anyway) are going to be pissed off; if he doesn't sign it, a lot of enviro-whackos are going to be pissed off. Either way, the fool loses something.

But I think the Democrats and Davis are responding to the higher authority --- the National Democratic Party.

I only wish the Pubbies would get down and dirty with their double-dealing traitor RINOS.
RINO Parsky - Bush friend or not - should have been put out of commission a long time ago. He will do his best to lose the race for Simon.
Freepers, be on the alert. These RINOS have been known to surreptitiously work for the Democrat candidate sending them money and materiel over the transom. RINOS hate conservatives. RINOS want to see them lose so they can take-over the Pubbies from conservatives.
Just a friendly reminder to Parsky: keep your losing RINO hands off of Simon's conservative agenda.

Did you all see him posed in front of that blackdrop of blue yesterday for his press conference? There may be a backdrop of blue, but also note the ATM sign. Could this be a subliminal message to Davis donors or anyone else wishing a favor from the coin operated governor?

To: John Jorsett
